prAna Spring is Here!

A friend asked me the other day if I'd seen any signs of Spring yet.  Robins?  Buds?  A little, but it's still a bit early. Happily, there is one fabulous sign of Spring I can point to--prAna's new Spring line.  I love prAna, it's one of my favorite clothing companies.  They are ethical, socially responsible, use eco friendly materials, and I trust them.  Not to mention, the clothes are gorgeous and functional.

Check out this new Berry Scallop fabric in the Quinn Dress.  I think it should be called Flaming Lotus.  It's an energizing sumptuous beautiful print that flatters.  The Quinn dress is one of prAna's best pieces in my opinion, it's butter soft and crazy comfortable, doesn't wrinkle and is light weight making it perfect for travel.  It's the kind of garment you can wash in a hotel sink and it will dry very quickly, hold its shape, and look fabulous throughout your trip.

prAna Cord Skinnies and Sundress for Winter Escape

prAna is such a fun company.  They make colorful comfy travel friendly clothing for people who are living passionately.  And, they have a heart for community.  By using earth friendly fabrics, doing various outreach programs, utilizing fair labor practice, and offering up a positive philosophy, prAna is one of those brands you can feel good about.  With that said, they also have great fashion sense.

Check out these Trinity Cords.  They're like skinny jeans, but cords--perfect for winter.  They look great with boots and booties.  They're thin, which is a great thing and hard to find.  Corduroy can be stiff and uncomfortable, these move with you and they're super soft.  I love the Coal, a charcoal grey color,  which is a nice break from black, but slimming and low profile.  They come in several other colors for variety.  A touch of stretchiness helps these pants hold their shape. 

For your winter escape to someplace warm, I love the Quinn Dress.  It's butter soft and falls at a perfect knee length.  Not too short, not too long.  The neckline is very flattering and feminine while still being functional, there's a built in shelf bra for support.

This dress is perfect for travel, it's lightweight and would be great in a dressy situation or on the beach.  It's made with recycled polyester and is fast drying and low maintenance, something you could easily wash in a hotel sink.  Pull it right out of your suitcase wrinkle free.  It comes in some fabulous colors and patterns, you will probably want more than one.

Fabulous prAna Yoga Tops

prAna has fantastic yoga clothing that also works as great street and travel wear.  Here are two tops that are super comfortable, allow full mobility, and pack down small without getting wrinkled.  The fabric is fast drying and you could easily wash them in a hotel sink if need be. I think they look great with jeans and skirts with a little hoodie.

Check out the Abi Top in that dreamy Purple Pixel.  Isn't that gorgeous?  Pairs great with black pants or a black skirt and has a built in shelf bra.  Comfy soft recycled poly, and a beautiful watercolor pixel print make this top shine.

Prana's New Fair Trade Clothing Line

You can eat it, you can drink it, and now you can wear it.  Prana recently introduced a new line of Fair Trade clothing true to their mission to offer products with purpose.  This Soul T is the first Fair Trade Certified garment to be introduced in the exciting new line making its debut this Spring.

Until recently, a Fair Trade standard was not available for clothing.  Fair Trade USA is a third party certifier so that consumers know that their clothes were produced in a manner they can feel good about.  This includes a fair prices to farmers, fair wages and working conditions, and environmental sustainability.  I can't wait to see what they come out with.

Four Fun Fall Finds

There are certain things that just make you feel toasty.  Here are some fun things to help you cozy up to fall.

This Fall-colors Tassel Hat from Prana will get you in the mood for cold weather.  These cute hats are hand made in Swaziland by the "Go Go's" (meaning grandmothers).  100% of these fair trade profits go right in the pockets of the Go Go's and are used to support their families and improve quality of life.

As soon as the air starts to get crisp, I go for the Chai tea.  Tazo makes my favorite one because it has both ginger and anise and it's the closest to my own home made masala tea.  Mix it with some hemp or almond milk and stevia or agave, put it in a thermos and take it to the pumpkin patch.  Or, curl up on the couch with a good book, a fuzzy blanket, and a cup of this--major comfort.  Find it HERE.

Fall finds for Furry Friends:

Cloak and Dawggie makes a great harness for dogs that adds a little extra warmth with a fleece lining.  They just step into this harness--it's super simple and has a double d-ring to secure the leash and the harness on the dog.  Made for smaller dogs, it seems to be super comfortable and perfect for the transition into cooler climates.

Our dog loves warmth and will find any little spot of sun in the house and bask there.  For days when the sun doesn't shine, check out the Crater Dot from the makers of the Sleepypod.  There is a warmer pad (sold separately) that slides into a pocket on the bottom.  It's a heating pad that gets to 104 degrees (not too hot) to help keep your companion animal warm.  Would work for cats and small dogs. It's thin and easy to store when not in use. There is a demo video on their website so you can see how it works, very modern and good concept.

Prana Organic Clothing for Spring and Summer

I get so excited to find fashionable organic clothing.  For a long time, I've been on the lookout for organic jeans which seem to be pretty scarce.  Check out these cute jeans from Prana--organic, cropped, super soft and comfy, perfect for Summer.  The fit is a loose boyfriend fit.  They have the jeans paired with this colorful belt inspired by Mexican tapestry.

Fabulous Eco Friendly Prana Yoga Mat and Bag

Prana's Neo Natural Yoga Mat is eco friendly and luxuriously thick.  It's made of cotton and natural rubber and is completely non toxic and biodegradable.  It's a huge difference from the thin sticky mats, this stays in place, even on carpet.  Very comfortable mat!  It does off gas a rubber odor for the first few uses, but it is not toxic and will dissapate.  I find it solid and supportive and think it's a great mat.  Find it HERE.
