Grand Trunk Parasheet: Beach Bag Must Have

Headed to the beach this summer?  If you're traveling and don't want to bring along bulky towels, Grand Trunk's Parasheet is a great solution.  They are super light weight at 20oz (less for the single), come in a handy attached stuff sack, and easily fit right in your beach bag.  They come in a rainbow of colors and single and double sizes.  I'd opt for double as I think bigger is better in this case, though the single is more compact and would be perfect for kids or those who want to minimize bulk even more. 

The blue is gorgeous and soothing, like your own portable oasis.  Sand shakes off with ease, so you don't have an accumulation at the bottom of your bag the way you do with towels that have been on the beach.  It also dries very quickly.  Pockets are sewn in the corners and sides to fill with sand and weigh it down so it will stay flat and won't blow away, and there are stake loops too.  It's perfect for picnics and no worries if you spill food on it, you can just throw it in the wash when you get home.

Grand Trunk Travel Comfort

Going anywhere for Spring Break this year?  Grand Trunk Goods can offer you some extra comfort on the plane (train, car, etc).  This Hooded Travel Pillow is made with memory foam and soft fleece.  Though it works just fine without the hood, it's a really nice option to have it there, and I've never seen a travel pillow with a hood, what a great idea.  It's perfect for airplanes, for shutting everyone out and creating your own little oasis.

If you're trying to watch an in-flight movie during the day and you have glare coming in--it can get pretty bright up there with open windows--you can pull the hood over and block a lot of that out so you can focus on what's in front of you.  Or you can pull it completely over your eyes for a nap.  It's instant privacy and wouldn't something like this be awesome on a crowded flight or the dreaded middle seat?

There's a little pocket on the side for your mp3 player, or ear buds/plugs.  It also makes for some cozy warmth on a cold plane, and when you doze off, the toggle closure keeps the pillow from shifting or falling off.  I think this would work great in the car and camping too.  The cover is removable for washing and it comes in a handy stuff sack with a grab handle and pull cord so you can easily attach it to one of your bags. For the rest of your body, I love their Travel Blanket.  It's made from eco friendly bamboo and is naturally anti bacterial and wicks away moisture.  It's a renewable, sustainable fabric and it's butter soft.  There's a pocket at the bottom to keep your feet cozy, which is great for the plane and it's a generous 70x40.  It weighs in at 16oz, and it's so worth this minimal weight on a freezing cold flight.

Like the pillow, it comes in a stuff sack with a grab handle at one end and a pull cord at the other and stuffs down to about the size of a Nalgene bottle.  You can easily clip it to your backpack or carry-on with a caribiner.

Grand Trunk Dunny Privacy Shelter

Have you ever found yourself on the beach wishing you had a place to change your clothes?  Or out on a camping trip wishing for your own private bathroom? Well here is the solution: the Grand Trunk Dunny Quick Set Privacy Shelter.   I haven't seen a privacy shelter out there that compares to this.  It's HUGE and very well made.  Two people could take a shower in there, no problem, they could almost dance the Tango.

This is perfect for camping trips to enable you to avoid public restrooms completely.  You can hang your solar shower inside and include a portable toilet as well.   You could also use it on the beach for changing clothes--I think it would be fabulous for a beach party or an all day outing with friends and family.  When you're ready to go, just pop it back in the bag.  It would be great at home for a pool party to keep a bunch of wet guests from traipsing in and out of your house and also provide convenience for them.

Inside the shelter are plenty of pockets for soap, shampoo, toilet paper, etc.  There's a place to hang your solar shower and it's sturdy, it's not going to come crashing down on you.  The floor is removable if you'd rather have the ground under you, it's your option.  Visually, it's perfect.  Low profile, good looking charcoal gray is sharp and kind of blends in with the environment.  It's also quite light weight, so it's not a burden to toss it in the car along with the rest of your gear.

It's so worth the extra effort to set it up, I thoroughly enjoyed a peaceful solar shower with a gorgeous lake front view through the window of the shelter.  The kids used the shelter for changing clothes and bathing suits before and after playing in the lake.  There are plenty of great places to hang your towels and the clean dry clothes.

Definitely stake it down as it's very tall and the wind could play havoc with it if it's not secured properly.  Included are plenty of stakes and the cords to guy it out, and set up and take down is so ultra fast, you won't mind taking the extra two minutes.  It goes right back into it's carry bag easily, which for me is super important as I don't want to be struggling at the end of an adventure.  Even though it's super tall, I can set it up and take it down by myself in just a couple of minutes, it couldn't be easier.  Highly recommended!  Find it HERE.

Grand Trunk Beach Shelter: Easy Portable Shade

Love the beach but need some shade?  Grand Trunk has a super easy solution for this, the Celio Beach Shelter.  This works well at a sandy beach, or a rocky beach, a park, outdoor concert, or anywhere you need portable shade.  The Celio comes with stakes to stake it down, and it has sand pouches sewn in to keep it anchored at the beach.

It literally takes just a couple of minutes to set this up, but even more importantly to me, it takes the same amount of time to take it down.  It also fits easily back into its storage bag which is great, so often these things are near impossible to get back in the bag.  It's well made and will last.

This is ideal for taking little ones to the beach where the sun can be too intense for tender skin.  The tent walls offer a sun protection that's rated UPF 50.  The bottom is removable so that they can still play in the sand under the shade.  I've seen cheaper versions of this, but that's what they are, cheap.  They look like they won't make it through a Summer while this is very well made and will easily last you many many seasons.
