Need something bright and cheerful to ease the transition into winter? Icebreaker has come out with a Magenta hoodie that is a great tonic for gray-sky blues. The Magenta Cascade Hood combines feminine looks with rugged function. It's Real Fleece, meaning real wool that's soft, cozy, and fuzzy on the inside. Wool is awesome. It's a sustainable material that keeps you warm in the cold and wicks away moisture when it's hot, so it's ideal for outdoor activity. When you break a sweat hiking, for instance, the wool will wick that moisture away from your skin, keeping you dry and warm. It's also odor resistant, so when you're camping or traveling and can't do laundry for extended periods, no big deal.
The Cascade Hood has figure flattering lines, and I love the pocket on the front just big enough for an id and credit card. As for fit--this is where things get tricky. Icebreaker runs small and tight, so I recommend sizing up. If you like your clothes a little loose, the way I do, consider sizing up two sizes. Normally I take a medium in most things, I'm an 8/10. In Icebreaker that translates to large and in this case, extra large. Once I figured it out, the fit was perfect.
Icebreaker makes some fabulous undergarments too--really nice in cold weather, and I spotted some on their site in this fun color. Sizing for undergarments was true for me (mediums), go figure. If you purchase directly from Icebreaker, they exchange sizes for you without charging shipping, so it's low risk, and once you find your fit, you'll love their stuff. Find the Cascade Hood HERE.

Icebreaker Crush Hoodie
Need something warm and bright to spice up your winter? Icebreaker's Crush Long Sleeve Hood jacket is cozy and will brighten up those gray days. It's from the Journeys collection of travel pieces and is a great lightweight jacket that works great on the go. It will keep you warm when it's cold, cool when it' hot, and it won't hold odor which is great for when you can't do laundry for a while.
It's quite long. It will cover your bum and keep you extra warm. At 5'5, I wondered if it might be a little too long on me, but I soon grew to love this feature. It looks great under a rain shell, with the bright hood framing my face. The thumb holes are great for keeping hands warm and would be perfect for bike riding and holding on to cold handlebars. Great versatile piece, find it HERE.

Icebreaker
Sophisticated styles and a great ethical policy set Icebreaker apart from your average wool clothing. For starters, they have a wonderful environmental and animal welfare policy. The animals are well fed, free range, and there is no muelsing. You can trace the origins of each garment with the BAA Code.
Check out this elegant Igloo Hood. It's sleek with clean flattering lines, the neckline is especially pretty. It's very tailored and I find it runs small so consider sizing up with this. It's soft, no itch like you find with some wools, and it's very warm. The long length lets it function as a jacket, and paired with gloves and a hat will see you through some cold weather while allowing you to remain mobile. It's a nice, versatile year round piece.
For kids, I like the Camper Hoody. It's well made to withstand some heavy duty play. This is something that will easily be passed down from kid to kid and the design is classic, it won't be going out of style.
Find these and other toasty Icebreaker clothes HERE on their website. They offer free shipping and free returns so you can get your sizing right. Once you try it, you are likely to want more. Hint: I found some crazy good Icebreaker deals on Amazon.
